-FUSION- is an autonomous 3D visual application which generates musical and visual patterns. In turn, the visuals are reflected in a low resolution array of lights in a tunnel behind the 9m x 7m installation.
Different sounds influence the visual software and the lights, creating millions of possible responses in real time. -FUSION- will never repeat itself twice.
-FUSION- Video synthesizer uses the following software: MaxMSP/Max for Live, Ableton Live and Mad Mapper

and Modul 8 software in which Boris Edelstein had a primary hand both in creation and development.Primary concepts of the group were innovative from the start. Firstly the music and video mixes were never programmed
but always played live in real time .The VJ was always on the stage with the musician.The work was always interactive both with image and sound ,but as well due to the fact that Mr. Buchanan always made the music by dancing on the midifloor of his invention ( 2nd Line). The music created by dancing, directly effecting the images then in turn effecting the artists and the audience . In a word " truely live" as well the duo utilized multiple projectors and multiple screens.

Video Triptych in the spirit of 60’s video installation art. 3 small HD screens feature generative cosmic imagery, watching themselves and sister universes - feeding back endlessly.
Lighting and refractive surfaces interact with lenses and screens, hand manipulated and performed in physical space. Re-scanned, processed and filtered live.
This setup is a early prototype for “optically coupled” video performance and installation tools. The end goal is to run completely through the displays, doing all processing either optically, with feedback, or on the devices themselves.
Technical Details:
3 Raspberry Pi micro computers running custom OpenFrameworks applications generate feedback, star fields / solar systems. Running the Raspberry Pi camera for feedback.
Live coded Arduino powered lights flicker and provide ambiance.
VDMX and v002 effects for post processing.

A 3 day workshop focused on learning projection mapping: the participants will learn Modul8 and VDMX to feed animations and videos contents through Syphon, and learn MadMapper to project video onto physical surfaces, moving away from the traditional confines of the screen. MWM and Resolume - 3D Video Mapping Demo from Martin Thoburn on Vimeo.
In this demo I model a basic pyramid in Cinema 4D and then export the object as an OBJ into MWM. Then with Resolume via Syphon mix video footage onto the UV mapped pyramid all in realtime.

I love the fast part of this track as it works well with the flowing but fast nature of hooping.
Some parts of the video are too visually busy for me now, but one thing I like about it is that it captures something real -

In 2012 i took part in the born digital team for "vj op de dom". I was asked to do an intro and the theme was glitch as an metaphor for the miscommunications of babylon.
All was done in quartz composer to make it sound reactive and create more of a synergy between visuals and the music.

The Basso Images project is an improvised audio/visual experience that is realized in real time, through collaboration between video artist and double bassist/composer. The video artist creates a visual montage from a variety of original video footage, including local images, and is processed and mixed in the moment, responding to the sounds produced by the double bassist/composer. The double bassist creates an audio environment through the real-time digital processing of the sounds produced on the double bass. This creates a unique, mesmerizing, symbiotic relationship that contributes to a truly immersive artwork.
