This is an excerpt from the performance of "Outback and Beyond: A Live Australian Western" that Mike Cooper and I performed at Southern Cross University's Studio One29 space in April 2012. Mike's playing lap-steel guitar and electronics, and I'm doing a live remix of films from the National Film and Sound Archive. Mike's libretto meditates on the adventures and misadventures of Charles Todd, the engineer who built the TransAustralian Telegraph from Darwin to Adelaide in the 1870s.
