Test of drumpad Quartz Composer real time visualizer. Stable for a few minutes until crash at video's end. My finger drumming gets a little sloppy at times, but you get the idea; I'm trying to make a playable accompaniment for live MIDI instrument performance,

Essentially, MIDI notes from a drum pad are coming in via Kineme's Global Input MIDI Note patch, and the gate of each note is Enabling a GIF Image -> Sprite. I've chosen short (3-10 frame) GIFs as my medium so that quartz will store them inside the composition, making it easy to grab them from a HD and drop them into VDMX, or load them quickly on any computer. It runs super smooth for several minutes at a time, but then crashes without lag or warning. I'm keeping most of my clips below 1 MB in size, and the rendering isn't super complex, can anyone suggest a better/more stable way to make this work?
