The for the 27 to 29 November anticipated Genius Loci Weimar Festival can unfortunately not take place. In view of the current development of the infection situation in Germany and the following decision of the Federal Government regarding new measures, it is now sadly not possible for us to hold our festival in November as planned. In order to be able to control the entire infection process again, general mobility is restricted to an absolute minimum nationwide. Regardless how well our hygiene concept is designed, regrettably, in the current situation, we cannot risk that numerous visitors will make their way to our festival. Therefore we decided – albeit a bit of a heavy heart – to show solidarity with the already heavily occupied healthcare system and postpone the event to next year.
It is uncertain when exactly the festival can be rescheduled– but it is sure that all visitors can look forward to an exciting production in 2021 and to great works of art on the facades of Weimar and along the festival route.
In order to shorten the waiting time until the next festival and to get through the winter well and safely, we have come up with something very special at short notice: From now on there is a limited number of supporter packages. This not only ensures access to the festival in 2021 to the desired Timeslot, but also a very special winter accessory of the “Genius Loci Corona Edition” can be selected.
