THE WINNERS OF THE GENIUS LOCI WEIMAR COMPETITION '25 HAVE BEEN CHOSEN
"SILENT PACT" by The Fox, The Folks | Bandung, Indonesia
The Fox, The Folks is a multimedia artist team based in Bandung, Indonesia. Their projects have garnered international acclaim, earning prestigious awards such as the Grand Prize and Audience Award at the 1Minute Projection Mapping competition in Tokyo, Japan (2021), and First Prize at Schlosslichtspiele 2022 in Karlsruhe, Germany.
Silent Pact is a visual exploration of the Faust story. Imagery and typography are interwoven to express the complex emotional terrain and values embodied in the drama: Desire, Temptation, Cost, Obsession, Guilt, Exposure, Paradox, and Reflection.

Lois He, a filmmaker and narrative designer, and Vio Zhu, a former senior software engineer at Google and Apple, co-founded HYZ Studio to explore the boundaries of storytelling and experience through technology. Combining creative direction and technical expertise, they create immersive experiences, interactive installations, live performances, and architectural projection mapping that merge physical and virtual worlds.

"MANUFACTURA" by Studio Zweisiedlerkrebs | Cologne, Germany
Studio Zweisiedlerkrebs, founded by Elena Wiener und Josefine Maier, is a creative studio for audiovisual and interactive storytelling. Whether film, interactive application, or exhibition – their focus is not on the how, but on the why. Their projects aim to strengthen democracy and diversity, amplify queer and feminist perspectives, and make historical contexts tangible.
MANUFACTURA is an endless machinery that exposes the systematic imbalance of patriarchal societies – told through the Gretchen tragedy of Goethe’s Faust. Faust, as the giving hand, and Gretchen, as the receiving hand, continuously test the boundaries of responsibility, overwhelm, and self-sacrifice.
