This is was an initial test desktop recording of a set-up using syphon virtual screen app and the syphon client qtz plugin for GrandVJ with Livid OHM 64 midi controller on the new Mac Pro. Works a treat with the virtual screen running Kinect visualiser (Richard England's app.) which drops in as a layer in GVJ. The sound reaction set-up was tricky with external mic but running smoothly now.

Die Urban Art Ausstellung WAND|WAND in der städtischen Galerie Rosenheim brachte so unterschiedliche Künstler wie Loomit, Quintessenz, El Bocho und MXZEHN in ihren Räumen zusammen. Zusammen mit dem Komponisten Marc Sauter entwickelte Stefan Kraus die Idee, die zeitliche Abfolge von Klangereignissen in der Musik auf einem realen Raum - in diesem Fall der Rückwand der Galerie - zu mappen. 6 Videoprojektoren und Lautsprecher ließen Klang und Bild durch die 3 Räume wandern, an den Besuchern vorbeiziehend wie ein stetiger Fluss. Durch die Beschränkung auf Weiss als "Farbe" mussten die Räume nicht völlig abgedunkelt werden, sondern die grafischen Projektionen verschmolzen mit dem Tageslicht aus dem Oberlicht zu einem ephemeren Lichtgespinst.

Unfortunately i was not able to get the entire set on video, what i display are a few pieces i was able to collect.

My purpose was to develop methods for quickly producing engaging video to accompany a music track, without needing to shoot any footage. It's disappointing when I check out the YouTube video for a song to find only a static shot of the EP sleeve!

I discovered a music track I liked very much by Reading UK band Bellyeyesmile http://bellyeyesmile.bandcamp.com/track/narrow-band-of-harrow, bought the EP and dissected Amy Carpenter's wonderful cover art http://www.alcdesign.me/index.html to provide animatable elements. I attempted to honour the style of this art in my additional work. Fortunately I had just discovered the impressive coding of Ben Weston http://evilsuperbrain.com, and added his realistic eye shader. The only video software used was "Magic" VJ Software from Color & Music LLC. http://magicmusicvisuals.com
This is by far the most accessible and productive audio-responsive real-time program I have tried. Be warned that it's an addictively rewarding creative environment! All effects are generated in real-time, without any pre-rendering. This hugely facilitates experimentation and tuning.
The video is not edited. I pre-determined a timed playlist of scenes, and Magic produced the above video at the press of a button.

Im Rahmen der Sonderausstellung zum Thema “Licht” des Museums für Verwandte Kunst wurde der Innenraum der St. Michaelskirche in Köln mit einer reaktiven Installation bespielt. Unter achtsamer Berücksichtigung des religiösen Kontextes wurde auf einer Fläche von über 400 qm eine Projektion realisiert, deren Inhalte unmittelbar von den Besuchern gesteuert werden konnten. Als alternative Interfaces wurden drei Handglocken ausgewählt durch deren spezifische Tonhöhe und Intensität visuelle und akustische Modifikationen vorgenommen werden konnten. Die Installation wurde für fünf Abende der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht.

Live Cinema Festival is a live performing exhibition that explores and promotes all the artistic trends whom is attributed the term “Live Cinema”, with performances by artists from Italy, Germany, England, Holland, Poland and Belarus, which have made this narrative technique their stylistic code.

The opening night of Wednesday starts with The Light Surgeons, a british collective that over the past 15 years have helped to pioneer many new forms of cross disciplinary practice, from spectacular live cinema performances to bespoke installations using custom software, large scale exhibitions in museums and working with brands along with forging new forms of digital film making. Follows Drøp + FAXyoung artists who founded in 2013, along with Marco Berardi (Mogano) the Arboretum Records label, a cooperation platform for experiments in audio / video

Thursday is the moment of the polish Vj Emiko, video artist, vj, video designer and photographer. By expressing the emotional states of a human – the vessel, her projects create audiovisual show, which, in connection with music, enhances the inner feelings of the audience. Follows Fabio Volpi aka Dies_ winner of Celeste award in 2010, teacher and artist, specializing in multimedia performances and average ensemble artistic creations.

Friday is the time of Elektromoon, Polish - Hungarian collective formed in 2004 with a predilection for large format projection, video mapping, audio-visual performances, interactive video installations and video projections for theater. Is followed by another Italian duo, the musician and visual artist Økapi and visual artist unz.snu from the collective More * Tv * V, who, starting from the original Opera Rotta written in 1989 by Bruno Munari and Davide Mosconi, de / structuring and re / up forty famous operas, according to the contemporary techniques of digital remix.

The final evening of Saturday foresees the performance of Alexei De Bronhe, Belarusian award-winning young artist with a passion for writing, script and music that is produced along with vj and videographic Artemiy Kalinina. The final performance is by Peter Kirn, visual artist, composer and musician living in Germany, an expert and author of many publications on the intersection of technology with music and visual creativity.

Some projection mapping tests we've been working on. I've been using a mannequin torso, Tv set, armchair and a few boxes to get a wide range of depth and perspective experimentation. These are just in my living room right now but we're hoping to bring more of this to a bigger space around Halloween. I'm slowly learning more VJ programs to work with but the easiest/fastest/best results I've made so far have been with a technique I worked out using Photoshop. Keep posted.
