BYOB | 14-12 | Nutrecht

BYOB | 14-12 | Nutrecht from Nick Liefhebber on Vimeo.
'Visual explosion presented by SETUP, LIEFHEBBER and FIBER – one night and one space to use all the beamers you can get your hands on and transform an empty space into an exhibition like you've never experienced before.'

Friday December 14th, SETUP, Liefhebber and FIBER will join forces for a combined Bring Your Own Beamer in Utrecht. Experienced in both Amsterdam and Utrecht the three will push this one-night-exhibition into a visual extravaganza. This collaboration will take place in the old, beautiful industrial hangar of NUtrecht at the Cartesiusweg in Utrecht, right next to trainstation ‘Zuilen’, making it easily accessible by train.

Together we'll present an experimental evening with a selection of various artists, cultural institutions, galleries, college students and collectors of film and video showing their own art. Besides this, we’re inviting everyone else to show any kind of video work and display this total in a new context, through and over each other.

Behind The Vj Scenes Vol1

A Behind the VJ Scenes a VJ Centrum új kezdeményezése.

CALL FOR ENTRIES

AVAF extends an open invitation to artists who are interested in developing their ideas by experimenting on the platform of new technologies, under no thematic restrictions, in 7 categories:

Video Art
By the use of recording and editing devices and computer code the artist creates a composition of moving pictures and sound

Animation
Moving drawn images. The illusion of movement: the rapid succession of slightly differing drawn images which the mind unifies into a cohesive motion

Installations
Appropriation of space incites the viewer’s sensory activation and, by incorporating creatively the surrounding space elements that interact dialectically with the artistic elements, offers him/her a full-fledged space-time experience

Digital Image
Still images processed by means of computer code

Web Art
A characteristically alternative evolution of digital arts: using as a platform its “ancestors” and also the Internet, gives the viewers the possibility to interact with the work of art, thus getting around the restrictions of traditional museum and art gallery environments

Performance
Single reproduction action that is accomplished through appropriation of the body

Music
Through artistic experimentation, sound has evolved into an essential tool of free expression; from lengthy compositions to the briefest of sample sounds, from natural sounds to the sounds of improvised musical instruments, anything can constitute a form of communication

Welcome to B-Seite Festival 2012

Welcome to B-Seite Festival 2012 from Swen Seyerlen on Vimeo.
B-Seite

Festival für visuelle Kunst und Jetztkultur

'Abstructures Preview' (3', 2011, Romania, Mario Oprean)
BIEFF 2011 International Competition

World Premiere

'Abstructures Preview' is an unfinished visual parataxis, a meditative piece that deranges a viewer's perception of time using long duration and loops. For Mario Oprean, it started out as a project in 2010, with the release of "Brainwave", his intentions being polarized by concepts of mind experiences or brain activity. These can be described as a virtual storm of electrical and chemical activity, composed of many different frequencies of rhythmic and non-rhytmic waves and ranges. The project eventually degraded into something more abstract than the director originally planned, evolving more into a visual experiment that focuses on its poetic result. The viewer can project his or her own self onto this film, and they are free to find the rhyme and reason of these abstract structures.

Vakondok 2 Filmbemutató & Premier Party

2011. november 17. csütörtök 20:00
Budapest, Dürer Kert

Jön a New Yorkban nagydíjat nyert Vakondok második része!

November 17-én kerül bemutatásra a Vakondok szubkulturális dokumentumfilm második része, Demoscene – Az Algoritmusok Művészete címmel.

A számítástechnika világunk leggyorsabban fejlődő ága, mely egyre újabb lehetőségeket teremt a művészet terén is.

Éjféltől kezdetét veszi a zenei stílus kavalkád.
A partyt, a demoscene-es gyökerekkel is rendelkező, Mercenary zúzos hardcore szettje zárja, aki jelenleg a NARG Entertainment-nek is tagja.
