We used a sensor dress for motion capture to interact with the video. Some parts are made in Quartz Composer and some others are in Motion Builder.

ffrend

FFRend is a Renderer for FreeFrame plugins. It allows you to chain any number of plugins together, automate their parameters using oscillators, and record the output to an AVI file. The input is a video, still image, or source plugin.

Resolume Avenue 3.3 Released

" Hurray! Another Resolume update! Version 3.3 includes DMX input, a faster DXV codec, improved camera capture on the mac and a boat load of other goodies. Checkout the release notes below and then hit the download.
DMX Input
This is a big one, you can now control resolume from a lighting desk using DMX. Or any other show control software that can send DMX. Resolume receives DMX via the Enttec USB Pro device or via ArtNet.
DMX Auto Map and/or Composition Mapping
By default the most important functions in Resolume are automatically assigned to a DMX channel. This is called DMX Auto Map and it's done for all layers. This way you can create profiles for your favorite desks and rest assured the DMX Auto Map will always be the same.
If you want to assign your own DMX channels in Resolume you can do this like you are used to with MIDI using the Composition DMX Map.
DMX License
We want to keep the base price of Avenue affordable so an additional DMX License is required to use DMX input. You can first try it as long as you like of course, just enable it in the DMX preferences, only a Resolume watermark will be shown.
You can buy a DMX License for 199 Euro in the Resolume shop.
Faster DXV Codec
Rendering video files to the DXV codec used to take forever. We have spent a lot of time optimizing the rendering algorithm to make it faster. And faster it is! In some cases it's 20 times faster! This means rendering takes about as long as the Photo JPEG codec so you do not have to wait an entire decade to convert your files anymore. A few other bugs have also been fixed, like rendering with Adobe Premiere on Windows.
Application MIDI mapping on effects
You can now assign midi notes or dials to (for instance) the opacity of the first 3 composition effects and use them no matter what effect is loaded. Many old Resolume 2 users will love this. All you have to do is assign your MIDI controller and you can load and unload effects as you like. The midi will always control the effects, no matter which is loaded.
Improved Camera Capture on the Mac
Resolume now uses the latest Mac OS X 10.5 capture APIs so it's faster and more stable. Note that your current compositions might not load your cameras anymore. Just drag it in again and it will work. Sorry for this inconvenience, it was impossible to make it backwards compatible.
Set Rotation to 0 with MIDI
All parameters can now be set back to their default value with a MIDI controller. So when you move your MIDI dial or slider the Scale passes exactly 100% and Rotate exactly 0 degrees instead of 2.04 or something. Small things like this can make life so much better
Master Audio Preview
As requested by Alessandro from FrankSentUs, you can now hear the master audio output before the delay on the monitor output. You enable this composition preview by clicking on the "Composition" button at the top op the interface. This is essential when you are using the Master Audio Output Delay to line up your audio on the PA with the video on the beamer.
Show in Explorer/Finder
Ever forgot where you saved the video file in a clip? Select Show in Explorer (or Show in Finder on the mac) in the clip menu.
RGB Blend Mode
With the RGB mixer you fade in each colour channel separately, it's hard to explain what it does, give it a go, we quite like it. "

VPT: Video projection tools v4.1

" about Videprojectiontools:
The initial version of Videoprojectiontool was developed during a workshop I gave for students of scenography, choreography and directing at KHIO in Norway june 2007, and further developed for the workshop I had at the medialab prado in Madrid may 2008.
The workshops were an introduction of working with video as a tool for creating and transforming spaces: to thinking of video as light, and how you can mask a projection to project on multiple objects and surfaces within the projector´s projection angle and to exploit the depth of field in video projectors.
With further development in 2009 Videoprojectiontool has evolved into a powerful and flexible application for projection mapping.
The software, built in max/msp with jitter from cycling74, is made to work for both max osX and windows xp/vista.
It works with 8 layers of video which can be placed in a 3D space (openGL). Each layer can be scaled,positioned, rotated, distorted, tinted and masked individually, and accept quicktime video files, live camera feed and a live drawing tool as sources.
There are 8 quicktime source modules, each accepts a folder of videos.
The live module can use any camera recognized by your system (quicktime on mac, directx on windows)
The drawing tool is mainly intended as a way of creating a rough mask for the objects you want to project on, which can be edited in a image-editing application for smoother and nicer-looking masks if needed.
The application contains a powerful preset and cuelist storage system, making it possible to make complex transitions between scenes.
VPT supports OSC for communication across computers and applications.

WarpMap 0.1

" So finally we present here our first release of WarpMap, an small application that we're using to play videos with advanced warping capabilities in our projection mapping projects. This first release it's just the binaries on Mac (10.5.7) and Windows (XP) systems,once we've cleaned the code and test it on some hardwares we'll publish the entire code project. This project has been developped in C++ with OpenFrameworks libs.
WarpMap it's a simple media-player application that let's you play several layers of images or videos with a quad-warping and mesh-warp deformation effect for each layer. Configurable via XML files and controled via keyboard, mouse and OSC.

Telenoika Audiovisual Mapping @ Ingravid Festival, Figueres 9/2009 [FULL] from Telenoika on Vimeo.
Finally we made it ! We've been some months behind the scenes preparing this show with the Telenoika crew. It's a facade audiovisual mapping made for the Ingravid Festival in Figueres, Girona. From Playmodes we developped the video-warper-player which just played a 20 minutes video on the facade. Also some of the 2D and 3D moments of this show were created by us with compositing and 3D rendering software. The video-warper-player was made in Openframeworks.cc 0.05. We're cleaning the code and we'll put it online soon, as well as a report of the process we followed to create this audiovisual performance. Enjoy !l

The Playmodes interactive installation was placed in REC la nui 2009 festival in Tarragona. This festival is part of the REC festival, an independent cinema event. REC la nui basically it's a contest of audiovisual performances and it showed some of the best a/v shows arround Europe. We were operating the controls of the effects to the music, kind of dance-vj-ing improvistaion with users. The installation was placed in a party situation and people could dance into it freely. After 4 nights of moves, that's what we got to edit as a sample of how people plays with Playmodes. Enjoy !

We have been working a little with the L8P mode we used for the Reflexus show. The basic idea was to capture 8 AV loops and then use them as instruments in a musical composiiton. As we want to play this loops polyphonically, we have developed a system for placing the loops in different parts of the screen, allowing us to do up to 208 different compositions. Each captured loop can be placed on screen as follows:
There are 26 possible options for each loop, but we are using only 25 due to some software restrictions.
We trigger the 8 loops with 8 different MIDI notes, and we decide which composition to use with each loop by assigning different Note On Velocity values to each of the notes.

This is one of the first try to achive a time-stretching live sampling. We've developped this with the original Playmodes software (coded in Openframeworks for the video side) and Reaktor engine (for the audio side). Both softwares communicate via OSC protocol.

mute vj software

Mute is VJ software which aims to facilitate improvised, unique visuals. Mute currently allows you to mix 3 channels of swfs and jpegs and apply up to 9 dynamic filters at a time. Mute is open source vj software so there is great potential for third party plug-ins and collaborative development.

The current version is beta 0.1. This is unfortunately Windows only at the moment. Download

As a bonus, MMM has a set of sound triggers that overlay the accelerometer display. These can be used to trigger beats, samples and play drum kits while you're twisting sounds by tilting the accelerometer.

Relentless, available only in the UK, is a frequent sponsor of music festivals and sports competitions. They asked us to make an audio visualizer that would run in real-time so they could show it at these venues. In addition to the live application, they wanted a content creation version and an iTunes plugin version. The content creation version would allow them to create renders from recorded audio and the iTunes version would allow members of the Relentless Order to experience it on their own computers. "

SplatBox, the VJ app, on Microsoft Surface

Kevin Kennedy öt éve dolgozik a Microsoft Surface csapatában. Érdekkes alkalmazással foglalkozik, a neve: SplatBox. Ez egy VJ program, amit WPF-ben írtak. ( Hogy ez mi, ne kérdezzétek, mert fogalmam sincs. Ha valaki tudja, felvilágosíthatna bennünket! ) A megvalósítás még eléggé kiforratlan, de nagy lehetőségeket rejt magában.
