JEWEL Nightclub LED Staircase

Every element which went into the video production for NEICO's project with JEWEL Nightclub which opened in May 2016, has been the most sophisticated yet. Content was produced for the entire venue which includes the LED entrance staircase, the main room video wall [made up of 54 Ayrton Dream Panels] and the multiple LED ribbons that encircle the venue.

The content which is processed for the Dream Panel fixtures by the Ai media servers, was designed to run on both sides of the panels using a DMX merge, resulting in a stunning dual effect that mixes high-resolution content on one side with brighter but lower resolution on the other as the panels are rotated. This content is reflected in the visuals that run across the ROE Hybrid LED ribbons

The content for the staircase, however, serves a different purpose. High quality 3D visuals evoking a series of pathways and walls, run across the eight 18’ columns and 15 stairs to highlight the architectural design of the space and encourage guests to ascend to the mezzanine level

Following the previous iteration, Geometrix is back with an other pack of tricks with geometrics - 20 full HD VJ loops, in ProRes4444, HAP Alpha and Photo-Jpeg format, created at 120 BPM tempo.

COGE 1.8.3

CoGe has been updated recently also!

First, version 1.8.2 fixed issues with MIDI/OSC sending, loading QC compositions and removing modules, then version 1.8.3 resolved a problem that could make CoGe rendering with 2fps and also added a lot of new effects and generators.

MITTI 1.2.4

In mid October we have released a bug fix update, Mitti 1.2.4, that improves performance with the Blackmagic Output, enables HEIF playback on macOS 10.12 High Sierra and enables controlling Transitions via OSC.

The update also resolves issues with:

audio playback when Pause at Beginning/End enabled,
triggering and chasing issues in MTC/LTC slave mode,
relinking missing media,
various problems with Blackmagic Output,
stuttering playback on longer Playlists,
and a few others of course.

We won't stop here of course, so Mitti 1.2.5 is already in the pipeline.

The Visual Piano is an instrument which makes it possible to create moving images in a space. It is unique and was conceived and developed by the photographer and light installation artist Kurt Laurenz Theinert in collaboration with the software designers Roland Blach and Philip Rahlenbeck. Using a MIDI-keyboard it is possible to generate varying graphic patterns which can be digitally projected onto one or more screens. These dynamic and immediate drawings in light are not (as with VJ soft-and Hardware) generated by pre-recorded clips, but every moment of the performance is being played and modulated live and in real time via the keyboard and pedals. Form and content are of one here. The “Visual Piano” performances explore professional contemporary artistic practice through the abstract, ephemeral medium of light, but at the same time they are consciously located in close proximity to the genre of “serious” entertainment.

Unreal Visual Orchestra workshop

As a part of Light Circle 2017 festival in Moscow
founders of Kuflex talked about and demonstrated how to use Unreal Engine 4 with openFrameworks to make interactive digital art and for live performances as a VJ-ing tool. Together with workshop participants, Kuflex created interactive content in Unreal Engine 4 for a collective visual performance with music. Each participant was controling a part of a common interactive scene in real time. All together, they became one big VJ orchestra. The high point of the workshop united everyone to create collectively, when each of the participants was ruling over one or several parts of a virtual 3D scene.

Создатели студии Kuflex рассказали и показали, как использовать Unreal Engine 4 в связке с openFrameworks для интерактивного цифрового искусства и для живого перформанса в качестве инструмента виджея (VJ). Совместно с участниками мастер-класса создали интерактивный контент в Unreal Engine 4 для коллективного визуального выступления под музыку. Каждый участник управлял частью общей интерактивной сцены в реальном времени, а все стали одним большим VJ-оркестром.

SΛLΛT it's a series of electronic dance music events, which sets new standards of EDM event making within Ukraine. Key mission of each show is to give visitors beautiful experience through the music, light and sound and other show details. Since 2015 SΛLΛT has evolved into a powerful EDM movement, which gathers thousands of people almost monthly on open-air and indoor shows, has it's own resident artists and often brings famous DJ-s and sound producers from Europe.
ACID 2.0 is a 17th event by SΛLΛT, an epic comeback of expressive and quite freaky ACID theme. Our SKILZ team developed a series of loops embodying party ideas: bright colors, crazy forms and images. Enjoy!
