Luminogroove is an interactive electronic art installation conceived for D&D's BEAT BALLROOM, 3 nights of DJ and visual art extravaganza presented by Dave Fernandes & Dean Dixon (HAHA Industries) as part of the Sydney Fringe Festival 2012.

Luminogroove captures the outline of the audience as a luminous skyline raising from a pool of glowing colourful light. When people dance and their heads and arms shake up and down, so does the audience's "aura". As it moves, this aura releases waves of energetic halos, with faster, thinner and more numerous halos matching increased crowd movement.

The installation creates an engaging hypnotic atmosphere, setting up the scene for a clear and lively interaction while still creating an interesting visual rhythm in line with the beats played in the room.

On August 10-18 St. Petersburg Russia hosted for the second time graFFFest - graffiti, street and public art forum, created by Multivision foundation. The project main theme is - synthesis of street and digital art being one of the most actual trends in contemporary street art development.
The pinnacle of the art forum was Street Art Jam - At Aug 17-18 overnight more than 30 000 residents and guests of Staint-Petersburg visited the biggest open air cinema. Erected wing of Palace Bridge over the Neva River turned into the huge screen having an area more than 400 square metres.Short movies competition programs: animation films "Urban Legends", internet movies -- "Cats in the City" and video graffiti was screened there. There was concert of Russian Hip-Hop stars Kaje Oboyma, Fike & Jambazzi, T9, Rakket, Rapublic, Cberio, video graffity by VJ_Ubejavhiy and Ikoza. graFFFest commemorated the 100th anniversary of Russian animation with silent animation of Vladislav Starevich - the first Russian animator, accompanied with live music by Atlantida project.
C 10 по 18 августа в Санкт-Петербурге во второй раз прошел арт-форум граффити, street & public art "graFFFest", проект фестиваля "Мультивидение". Основная тема проекта - синтез уличного и цифрового искусства, как одно из самых актуальных направлений в развитии современного стрит-арта
Перформанс Street Art Jam на Дворцовом мосту в ночь с 17 на 18 августа собрал 30000 человек. Крыло разведенного Дворцового моста со стороны Эрмитажа превратилось в гигантский экран площадью более 400 квадратных метров. Были показаны конкурсные программы арт-форума: анимационных фильмов на тему "Городские легенды" и интернет-фильмов «Коты в городе», видеограффити VJ_Ubejavshiy и Ikoza. Выступили звезды российского хип-хопа: Т9, Кажэ Обойма, Рэккет, Fike & Jambazi, DJ Fisher, Cberio, Rapublic. Показом немых мультфильмов первого русского аниматора Владислава Старевича под живую музыку Atlantida Project graFFFest отметил 100-летие российской анимации.

Gil Kuno's "Six String Sonics, The" gets joined by a set of reactive graphics designed with and programmed by Jon Bobrow. The graphics are responding to each of the six strings' amplitudes as well as parametric controls of the VJ. Over an hour long performance, the visuals migrate from very direct to more abstract representations the musics form.

During a sequence called "percussive shapes", the visuals are both responding to the guitarists as well as creating percussive sounds as the objects bump into the borders of the stage.

A custom application was written in C++ using OpenFrameworks to interpret OSC messages from Ableton Live, Midi controls from a Korg Nano controller, as well as allow for realtime custom charts of values, averages, and parameters for the visualizations. The application also synchronizes with an Ableton Live timeline to progress scene by scene with the specific visual forms.
