Ciao Vj,
The XI edition of the Live Cinema Festival is ready to come to life, with the same passion and dedication that have characterized every stage of this journey.
“See the Sounds, Listen to the Images” continues to be the guiding principle of an event that, over the years, has created a unique cultural experience, enriching the city of Rome with experimental audiovisual performances.
Through the interaction of emerging and established artists, both local and international, a creative community has been consolidated, capable of transforming Rome into a center of artistic innovation and experimentation.
Over 100 artists from four continents have graced our stages, contributing to a collective artistic growth that has inspired events and festivals worldwide. The 2024 edition celebrates this extraordinary journey with a line-up designed to offer the audience an immersive experience in the world of real-time audiovisual performances, also known as the art of live cinema.
On September 26, at the Acquario Romano, the Casa dell’Architettura, in collaboration with the FAR – Festival dell’Architettura di Roma, the 2024 edition of the festival will take place, featuring international artists presenting unique performances, ready to amaze and fascinate, inviting the audience to explore a universe of emotions and visual and sound experiments.

Inverted Envelope follows a train ride through Tokyo’s iconic districts—Akihabara, Shibuya Crossing, and Shinjuku Station. Shot at 120 fps, the video captures the city's rhythm, alternating between speeding up and slowing down to reveal subtle moments. The shifting architecture and urban backdrop highlight these fleeting details, emphasizing the rhythm and constant change of Tokyo’s vibrant urban life.

Myriam Boucher | Fragments [QC/CA]
The audiovisual installation Fragments consists of three short films. For this work, the duo Myriam Boucher and Pierre-Luc Lecours fragmented images and sounds captured in Québec during the summer of 2020, creating a journey through various abstract sound and visual landscapes.

Fausto Mercier | Promise me delight [HU]
Premiere
Roland Nagy is a sound engineer, former multimedia arts student, and Hungarian producer from Pécs who started his Fausto Mercier project in 2016. He has appeared on Unlog, EXILES, Kaer‘Uiks, Pointless Geometry, and Genot Centre. His work in electronic music production, while resonating with hardcore digital culture and heavy, dynamic rhythms, is closely tied to his fascination with natural soundscapes and their fractal nature. In particular, the artist skillfully depicts a violent and tense world populated by minuscule yet grand sound variations, intertwined in a web of seemingly chaotic textures. The FAUSTO MERCIER project is considered one of the most brilliant outputs in the field of experimental laptop music, drawing direct inspiration from pioneering works in modern electroacoustic music.
