Live VJ-performance by The Lightbulbs
Live VJ-performance by The Lightbulbs from Leonie Spachtholz on Vimeo.
The Lightbulbs invite you to a visual music experience with lights and flames guiding you through a journey of emotions. Joy is a feeling we are all looking after, and visual music enables to affect the mind though the synergy of musical and visual stimuli in an atmospheric ambiance. A set of different loops was first created to perform and play with them and make a live visual composition following and visualising a narrative through the feelings and stages of the music. Fire and light and their motions are elements of this performance, visualising the joy conveyed through the used music, mainly from the 60's.

°PATTERN 5_17°_ live sessions with PATRICK VIDAL from MILOSH L. on Vimeo.
-Light Guerilla Festival Ljubljana Slovenia, 05.2017:
A key feature of this meditative projection, created by Milosh for Lighting Guerrilla, is exploration of different facets of reality, with which the artist addresses mainly its illusion-ness, realized through the subjective perception of the viewer. Dimensions of time and space, explored by the artist, are thus layered like metaphorical sediments of memories, imbued with the weldability of the unconscious and of the archetypal.

Mapping _ Digital Shifts
First of all, we wish to send our most heartfelt thanks to the artists, who performed as part of a rich, avant-garde program including audiovisual performances, live shows, screenings, and DJ sets – namely Acronym, Aleksi Perälä, Alex Augier, Boris Labbé, Borusiade, Clara, DISNOVATION.ORG, ENA, Galabar, Graphset, Lacrema, Lea Fabrikant, Mah’Mood, Maotik, Maria Roszkowska, Mark IJzerman, Martin Messier, Neel, Nicolas Maigret, Paul Jebanasam, Pascal Viscardi, Peder Mannerfelt, Rainer Kohlberger, Refracted, Ruslana Koziienko, Serhiy Klymko, Sins, STEREO NIGHT, Tarik Barri, Temiri, The Mole, YON & POL.
Exploring digital cultures along the lines of three distinct strands – LAB, LIVE and EXPO –, the event attracted both experts and the general public, especially at the ACT space, created in collaboration with the Electron festival.
As a new center for art and creation in relation with technology, ACT, which was inaugurated by Electron on April 6, and then occupied by Mapping _ Digital Shifts from May 3 to 28, attracted close to 5000 visitors, seduced by the plethora of conferences, workshops, masterclasses, late openings, various animations as well as the two successive exhibitions it hosted.
Broadly speaking, the organizers wish to highlight the success of the festival's new orientations, and particularly the creation of its first international Forum, Paradigm Shift, which is bound to be renewed during the next editions. In this respect, we warmly thank the speakers for the quality of their talks and the abundant discussions thus initiated.
We would also like to say a huge thank you to all the instructors who conducted workshops and masterclasses intended both for young and older participants.
Finally, the festival team wish to thank wholeheartedly the volunteers, partners, venues, technical crews, as well as the audience, all of which have made this edition a true success and a rich experience.
Visit our photo gallery and (re)discover the exhibition DISNOVATION.ORG in video.
See you in May 2018 for the next edition!"
PLAYGROUND AV FESTIVAL 2017
The PLAYGROUND AV FESTIVAL 2017 in Vienna (hosted by 4youreye ProjectionArt) is an Experimental Audiovisual Art Festival and will happening this year from 22. - 25. of June. This year the Playground AV Festival stands again in the sign of the meeting of unusual projection design AudioVisual Music, projection art, and AV sound artists.
The Festival gives artists and people who interested in audiovisual and experimental video art the opportunity of exchanging knowledge and to learn about this certain field. For this we offer workshops, screenings and discussion groups getting carried out by artists and technical professionals we have invited from more than 14 european countries, the States and Russia.
For all this we will use again 3 indoor locations as well as the huge outdoor area around the Stadtbahnbögen at Donaukanal (Walk of Fame incl. the 25 m high climbing tower) which will be visualised with unusual wall mappings, projection art and video installations after sunset.
Highlights:
Friday stands completely in the sign of the british audio-visual Live-Act Addictive TV which are to be seen for the first time in Vienna and appear with the Playground AV as the headliners. They became famous with many music-productions, TV shows and the audio-visual project „Orchestra of Samples“. They have been performing in more than 50 countries as well as the Glastonbury festival, Roskilde Festival and the San Francisco Film Fest. Besides, Addictive TV have been distinguished since 2004 already for the second time as world best Vjs. On Saturday Addictive TV will do an AV live remix session. From 23h Playground AV goes on with „Alles Banane“ by Scheibosan including projection art / live visuals by Elektromoon, Gianluca Del Gobbo, Trig Fardust / Club der Visionäre and many more.
On Saturday we present Liquid Sky Berlin, who are well famous over the borders of Berlin with experimental TV and Radio-projects, Sound and Video-art. We are very exited about the fact that LSB presents the band airliquide live (in their origin formation). On the decks they are getting supported by Mijk van Dijk. Playground AV is also looking forward the Berlin AV live Act Tangowerk.
Lichtbogen334 presents from midnight till 06h in the morning the AV & analogue live night. The show will be transferred via live stream into Berlin and online on via Alex TV.
Air Liquid will be live-visualised through the night by 4youreye., Siegfried Kärcher, Attaray, VJ Diablos and many more. 4youreye - the founders of the Playground AV Festivals are the pioneers of the Austrian VJ Scene and for many years now they prove that they count to the most unusual Vjs worldwide. The unique 4youreye-style shows in the finest pictorial language the abillity of expressing the music through visuals.
Either live in nightclubs or in the big style, like on last years „Wien leuchtet“ where they were visualising the History Of Art- Museum, 4youreye unites Sounds and Visuals in their brilliant ways.
They are asked internationally as jurymembers (Circle of Light/ Moscow and many more) and their works also find themselfes in Galleries and art festivals like recently at the Vienna Take-Festival where 4youreye curated more than 50 Artists which presented themselves there for one week.
Playground AV 2017 is part of the cultural cooperation LPM 2015 > 2018 realized within the international audiovisual network AVnode, with the contribution of the Creative Europe Culture Program for European Cooperation Projects, involving 14 partners from 13 European countries.

2018 Arab Future Tripping (VR prototype)
2018 Arab Future Tripping (VR prototype) from VJ Um Amel on Vimeo.
This is the first rendering of a prototype of a data-driven virtual world of social media. This world here is made up of 60,000 users (trees) who tweeted about half a million posts (frogs, mushrooms, and deer) on #WomensMarch over 24 hours in 2017 (time indicated by scenes). On her tenth anniversary in 2018, VJ Um Amel will release a second mediascape of the same social media archives that runs the R-Shief Media System. But rather than software applications and data visualizations, Arab Future Trippings will embody skin or stitch holding together various immersive and performative modalities. VJ Um Amel's VR research cluster is made possible by UCSB Academic Senate Faculty Research Grant to support the prototyping and production of this 360 degree, first-person immersive, virtual reality (VR) story of the Arab Uprisings of 2011. The Twitter data is collected, processed, and provided by R-Shief. Graduate student researchers Intae Hwang and Han-Wei Kung used Unreel, Houdini, and Grasshopper for VR production. Original score gifted by DJ Underbelly, “Kali Uchis Watch Want Me 4.” Thanks to all past, present, and future who contribute to this project.

Apolda European Design Award 2017 : Stage Visuals
Apolda European Design Award 2017 : Stage Visuals from MXZEHN on Vimeo.
Every three years graduates from fashion academies all over Europe come to little German town Apolda to compete with their collections for the much thought after European Design Award.
Presented for the 9th time in 2017, the prestigous award has seen designers as Joop and Lagerfeld peeking for the next big thing and is considered a career springboard for yound designers.
MX10 was comissioned with the creation of an interactive stage design that was audio-reactive - the music was performed live by Berlin based producers Demir and Seymen and a vocalist - and reflected the character of each of the over thirty collections. The visual architecture was designed and programmed in #touchdesigner and controlled with a MPD232 Midi controller. This edit was recorded in the studio with 16:9 aspect ratio while for the show the content was precisely mapped onto the 1792 x 1280 LED wall that framed the runway. The images used in the visuals were provided by the designers. The music is written and produced by http://irkyste.com
