Losing all perceptions of reality.
Swimming in a comfortable world, fluffy and foggy, the sequence of gestures, movements and situations taking place not in slow motion, but rather appearing illuminated by brief flashes of light as regular and as a result of a strobe unit in this excessive and dazzling moment, the music filling all space, seeming to accumulate in an opaque and solid mass, then diluting in color, sound waves and visual impressions becoming indistinguishable, based blocks of concrete materiality, almost rough, space and time turning confused, inextricably mingled in a kind of furious and informs matter, all of the blurred perceptions sinking into a deep obfuscation..
A total blackout.
And waking up without remembering anything, emerging suddenly from a deep sleep without dreams.

Perdre toute perception de la réalité.
Nager dans un univers confortable, cotonneux et brumeux, l’enchaînement des gestes, mouvements et situations se déroulant non pas au ralenti, mais plutôt apparaissant éclairé par de brefs et périodiques éclats lumineux comme sous l’effet d’un appareil stroboscopique dans un présent éblouissant et excessif, la musique emplissant tout l’espace, semblant s’accumuler en une masse opaque et solide, puis se diluant en couleurs, les ondes sonores et les impressions visuelles devenues indiscernables, se fondant blocs de matérialité concrète, presque rugueuse, espace et temps à leur tour confondus, indissolublement mêlés en une sorte de matière furieuse et informe, l’ensemble des perceptions brouillées puis sombrant dans un obscurcissement profond.
Un black-out total.
Et se réveiller sans se souvenir de rien, émergeant brusquement d’un lourd sommeil sans rêve.

When synaesizer goes glitch: hacking the hacking.
The synæsizer is a device that makes you see what it hears and hear what it sees. The technique used here is the "databending", which is a form of "hacking" in the primary meaning of the word (more about the synaesizer: http://vimeo.com/channels/330919)
Glitches are made by hacking familiar systems, manipulated to create art. Glitch artists reveal a certain soulfulness that emerges when complex streams of information, visual media, and our own lives converge in the chaos of the glitch (more about Glitch Art: http://networkcultures.org/wpmu/portal/publications/network-notebooks/no-04-the-glitch-momentum/)
So, we have asked ourselves: what would happen if we glitched the synaesizer? What would happen if we introduced wild glitches into the more controlled ones: the glitches that come from the databending technique?
And here it is.

Emilia Gumańska / vj Emiko- visual artist, photographer, video designer and producer. Vj and a/v sets are created on the basis of various video projects of her own authorship. She experiments with light, self made scenography elements and stylisation. Visual character of her productions is very minimalistic and clear. Visual transmission is strongly connected to emotional states of human. By means of visual symbols she creates emotional tunnels between her and viewer. Since January 2011 emiko cooperates with Czwórka Polish Radio HDTV, making real-time vj sets for music programs. She is the winner of VJ Torna Championship 2011/ Live Performers Meeting Mińsk edition/. Emiko's vj and a/v projects accompany many of events in Poland and Europe.

Simon Longo (sonic artist) and Max Schleser (filmmaker) have joined audio-visual forces for collaborative AV performances and experimentation with sound and moving-image. Both practioners combine their own research practices, backgrounds and experimental working methods in a unique cooperation to create a synergy between their works, which transcends the boundaries of various disciplines. Simon Longo (Dithernoise) and Max Schleser have exhibited and performed their work individually as well as in collaborative exhibitions in the UK and internationally.
Visual Rhythms performed at Le Placard Festival, The Foundary (independent art space, East London), The London Gallery West and P3 exhibition space (London). An article about the collaborative work is forthcoming on HZ magazine #17 (www.hz-magazine.com) and they also presented their work at the (re)ACTOR – first international conference on digital live art, in London.
At the performance at Stazione di Topolò 2012 Max incorporated mobile videos from the village in the Italian Alps and the collaborative mobile filmmaking project 24 Frames 24 Hours (www.24frames24hours.org).

first you see me performing by mixing live visuals - which are controlled via a smartphone** - with painting...
then i do a quick and easy "10X01"-piece and map the projection to the fill in of this piece***...
the filming was done by mr. roland lindner of "decollage.tv"****
the whole "screen&canvas"-project is an experimental approach of playing with and testing the transition(s) between the physical and the virtual world....
