Verlängerung Open Call Wettbewerb Genius Loci Festival Weima
MAKE WALLS TALK!
Wie immer ist der Sommer schneller vorbei als man denkt und deshalb verlängern wir den diesjährigen Open Call des Genius Loci Festival Wettbewerbs bis zum 09. Juli.
Das Genius Loci Festival findet vom 15. bis 17. September statt und Künstlerinnen und Künstler können ihre Arbeiten noch bis zum 09. Juli 2023 23:59 Uhr einreichen und sichern sich damit die Chance, den diesjährigen Wettbewerb zu gewinnen.
Die Gewinner erhalten ein Preisgeld von insgesamt 20.000€ und die Arbeiten werden auf dem Festival vor Ort in Weimar gezeigt.

As always, summer is over before you know it and that's why we're extending this year's Genius Loci Festival Competition Open Call until July 09 and thus secure the chance to win this year's competition.
The Genius Loci Festival will take place September 15-17 and artists can now submit their work until July 09, 2023 23:59.
The winners will receive a total of €20,000 in prize money and the works will be shown at the festival.

Last week, 13 aspiring VJs competed in a friendly VJ battle in @ClubairAmsterdam. The result: an amazing flurry of different styles and techniques. and... not 1 but 8 winners. Their prize: admission to the one and only VJAcademy. One year of VJ training with the best VJs of Veejays.com and many other professionals - starting in September.
Congratulations to the winners and new Class of 2023/'24: Dimme, Eric, Julian, Jack, Matunda, Nadine, Pien en Teodor.

COMPETITION 2023 - ANNUAL THEME: "BAUHAUS GOES AI"

100 years ago, the legendary Bauhaus Werkschau, the Bauhaus Exhibition of 1923, took place in Weimar. For the first time, the Bauhaus invited the whole of Germany to an exhibition and showcase, its Bauhaus Week. Among other things, the world-famous architectural icon "Das Haus am Horn" was presented as part of this exhibition. This visionary design represented the creative and design potential behind the democratic awakening of the young Weimar Republic and the maxim 'Design for All'.
100 years later, another push in the democratization of design and art in the world of design is imminent: the technological development in the field of artificial intelligence. So-called Generative Neural Networks (GAN) are able to create pixel-perfect graphics and entire animations of impressive quality and technical perfection from simple texts. Once again, the democratization of art takes another, this time downright dramatic step: anyone can be a graphic artist through machine assistance. Is classical design and art education obsolete? Even more: with deepfakes, anyone can present any event to anyone at any time. Is even reality already obsolete?
With the 2023 edition of the festival, Genius Loci Weimar would like to commemorate the Bauhaus Week that took place 100 years ago, and this year's competition will reflect on tasks and issues surrounding the use of artificial intelligence in art and design.
