Modern real-time computer graphics programming techniques have made great advancements in recent years which make some of this technology hard to approach for beginners. On the other hand more and more artists are using advanced techniques like these to create some deeply immersive and impressive works in digital art.
In this introduction to Visual Live-Coding will be presented a tool developed to do on-the-fly live visual programming using GPU shaders, which can be made to react to sound, images or input devices to create live-synthesized, real-time images as a performance.

This workshops considers the use of Ableton Live, the leading DAW for audio performance, and Cycling 74′s Max for Live, an embedded version of Max/MSP within live. By using the open source package VIZZable, now it is possible to trigger video clips inside Live. This will be demonstrated by using music videos to construct a simple system for live DVJing.

The INTBLURVE project showcase is a mathematically generated graphic animation. It will merge two opposite fields in generated graphics: modular compositions, that represents integers sequence with different division levels and rules and

De cette collision résulte une tempête stroboscopique qui frappe la rétine de sa violence bruitiste. Un environnement extrême et chaotique duquel émerge une structure; suite ordonnée de points de convergence dans une infinité de désordres possibles.
Inspiré de la thématique "The Crystal Interface", "Kaleidophobe" cristallise en 120 secondes les deux dernières années de leurs projets professionnels réciproques. Aux antipodes du chaos attendu, c'est à la surprenante éclosion d'un entrelacement harmonique que l'on assiste.

Serato Video: Video Mixing Interface Overview (Tutorial) from DocOptic on Vimeo. This tutorial covers the entire video mixing interface of Serato Video for Serato DJ. We go in depth as to what each button, knob, toggle, fader and menu does. We also explain how Auto Transitions and the Media Crate works when loading visuals and video clips with your tracks.
Dillon Francis "The Gary" from V Squared Labs Inc. on Vimeo. The Gary
V Squared Labs teamed up with Dillon Francis to create a new stage show that allows Dillon to appear as if he is DJing from inside a unique yet characteristic Frank Gehry inspired structure. Abstract shapes were created on two planes, one in front of Dillon and one behind. Through twists and torques, they were given depth and spatial substance to create a visually stimulating and fully three dimensional video sculpture. In an effort to give the visuals abstract spaces to live in within the set, we designed an array of openings in various configurations that correlate with the 3D shapes. These voids, which narrow towards the LED, were then lined with a highly reflective mirrored vinyl to bounce the video out into the audience while still keeping the formal integrity of the piece. These twisted reflections create a funky, almost psychedelic paradox of continuing content onto faces that don’t originally (and can’t) contain video.
Visual inspiration came from several sources including our own animation artists who worked on the show. A lot of style and color reference came from the Pizza Slime crew. We used their art direction and Dillon’s existing unique visuals as a starting point to explore new styles. The fragmented nature of the set opened new creative possibilities for deconstructed 8-bit patterns and twisted faces. We discovered amazing things in our first viewings of our animation on the art and evolved new looks from our live programming. Very colorful primary looks created stunning reflections.

Hattlerizer 2.0 is the latest incarnation of Max Hattler’s audiovisual live performance practice. Using custom-built software, Hattler expresses an abstract optical terrain in which hard-edged geometries and supple organic forms proliferate, interact, and wane.
Aesthetics of metric shapes and colours coalesce with optical feedback recursions to engross the audience with virtual realms that range from the soft, nebulous, and celestial, to the frenetic, psychedelic, and dissonant.
Paying homage to influences in improvisational jazz and avant-garde animation, Hattler plays his visual instrument in an ad lib manner, resulting in a radiant spectacle that is at once arresting, rapturous, and starkly original.

Pierre-Laurent Cassière (b. 1982) is a french artist whose practice is mainly influenced by media archaeology. Through kinetic sculpture, expanded cinema and sound installation, his audiovisual artworks often combine historical techniques with contemporary technologies to propose contemplative apparatuses that confront us with our perceptive habits.
Three dark mirrors suspended from solid oak gallows deform the image of bodies and space according to their oscillations. The steel sheets adopt numerous vibratory states: from gentle, almost liquid undulations, to noisy convulsions, which fragment, blur, and multiply reflections.

The Coin collective, an artistic laboratory based in Grenoble (France), produces installations and monumental performances. For each new project its artistic director, Maxime Houot, assembles a new collective depending on needs, wanted know-how, collaboration wishes.
Bruno Ribeiro, aka Nohista, is an audio-visual artist. Considering hearing and sight to be a single and indivisible sense, he plays images like a musical instrument, through which sound becomes tangible. In his creations, he works on the themes of perception and illusion, creating immersive and sensitive performances for the audience.
Cyclique is a work in situ, standing between digital minimalism and monumental kinetic installation. Inflated with helium and equipped with LEDS, 256 balloons form a matrix of luminous spheres above the ground. Its structure constantly changes, balloons moving at the discretion of air currents, immersing the audience in a synesthetic landscape where the sound becomes conductor.
