Since the inception of Spinnin’ Sessions we’ve been involved in creating various designs for the brand. We’ve created the logo, poster artworks, promotional videos and visuals in the past.
In 2018 Spinnin’ Sessions started to roll out more liveshows all around the globe. For this they needed a visual package that could be taken along for local VJ’s to play and make sure the brand is portrayed properly during the shows. In close collaboration with Spinnin’ we’ve chosen to take urban references like buildings, skyscrapers, metro tunnels and moving traffic, as a basis for the concept. These references we then translated to elements that would work well for visuals on LED screens. Elements like concrete textures, skylines, glass reflections and light streaks. In these elements we incorporated the ’S’ emblem in various ways to create a consistent but varied brand identity for the live shows.

After creating the visuals for Jay Hardway back in 2013, which were based around dark industrial neon shapes that matched the harder tracks he released in that period, we were asked to make visuals for Jay again. The new visuals needed to reflect the new direction that Jay has taken musically. More melodic and uplifting.
We translated this brief by creating colourful ink animations, trippy elephants (based on his hit ‘Electric Elephants’) and hard graphical black and white Rorschach imagery to be in sync with the heavier parts of the music.

" Il est exact que l’art a un fonctionnement proche du fonctionnement religieux. C’est-à-dire, les nouveaux princes ne construisent plus des églises, mais ils construisent des musées. Tous les jours un nouveau musée d’art contemporain ouvre ses portes, ce qui est absolument grotesque. Ces musées sont de plus en plus luxueux, de plus en plus pompeux, avec des colonnes en cuivre, de grands halls d’entrée, et l’objet même de la peinture devient tout à fait proche de ce que furent les reliques au Moyen Âge. Au Moyen Âge, quand une ville voulait devenir riche, il fallait qu’elle trouve un petit bout d’os de saint et généralement, soit elle le volait, soit elle le fabriquait. Les foules se mettaient alors à venir prier… Une foire s’installait… Le commerce marchait… La ville grandissait. Il se passe la même chose avec la peinture aujourd’hui. Si Maubeuge avait cinq Cézanne, Maubeuge serait une ville vers laquelle il y aurait des pèlerinages, lesquels feraient marcher le commerce, etc. L’idée importante étant que l’oeuvre a été touchée par l’artiste. "

Comissioned by Nella Media Group to create custom vertical videos of the Waikiki area to be mixed live and projected on the top 11 stores of the south tower of the resort during the opening celebration. A collection of 50 dynamic and textural videos were created as a back drop to the party DJ'd by Kim Ann Foxman. This is a short compilation of images of the live event.

For Chinese DJ Carta we've made a second visual package, this time centered around the cicada: An insect representing carefree living, rebirth and immortality in Chinese folklore. They are beautiful creatures, most noticeably because of their distinctive wing pattern. When they flap their wings they produce a extremely loud sound making this creature the perfect symbol for the bass heavy music of Carta.
We heard the sounds of the Cicada loud and clear and translated these sounds into
visuals. Bright and punchy, using illuminating neon-like textures, creating a futuristic feel that fits Carta’s bass-heavy music, while at the same time referencing his Chinese origins by using the Cicada as the main theme.

Après avoir tenté d’établir un état des lieux de la production, création et diffusion de la discipline, place à des exemples précis ! Sous forme de conférence, 3 représentants de projets culturels exposent leur expérience de la mise en place concrète d’un projet de video mapping.
Karol Rakowski (Pologne), initiateur du projet Omicron à la Halle du Centenaire de Wrocław
Pendant plus de 10 ans, l’artiste VJ et directeur multimédia Karol Rakowski a performé dans tous les festivals de musique de Pologne, travaillant avec des artistes comme Skalpel (Ninja Tune). Au théâtre, il a notamment travaillé avec Krystian Lupa, Jan Klata et bien d’autres. Par ailleurs, il est directeur artistique de la Wrocław Multimedia Fountain de Wrocław, un projet qui l’a amené à travailler notamment avec Brian Eno. Il a également été responsable des effets spéciaux pour le film Le Lapin à la berlinoise, nommé aux Oscars.
L’œuvre Omicron, commandée par la Halle du Centenaire de Wrocław, a été réalisée par Romain Tardy et Thomas Vaquié, intervenant de la table ronde 3.

Digital FUN team cooperated with Super Bonfire, brought the eclectic personality from Audi Q2L to the everyone who loves cars. We changed the traditional way of car launch event, by combining with a concert and opening ceremony’s concept design. Digital FUN created real-time visual effects for DJ Alan Walker, and singers like Julie Bergan, Ronghao Li, Yuchun Li, Qian Song etc. Moreover, we also combined the creative lighting controlling panel into our system. By operating the highly-functional integration feature of TouchDesigner, we brought four massive service stacks work together for the 8K real-time visual effects rendering, in order to create the best visual experience for our audience.

Vom 11. bis 13. Oktober 2018 veranstaltete die Universität Hildesheim die 4. Jahrestagung der Kulturwissenschaftlichen Gesellschaft zum Thema „Ästhetische Praxis und kulturwissenschaftliche Forschung“. Der Begriff der ästhetischen Praxis ist ein im produktiven Sinne offenes Konzept der Kulturwissenschaften und bezeichnet hierbei eine Weise des Handelns, in der gestalterische Spielräume, performative Ausdrucksbewegungen und leiblich-sinnliches Situiertsein eine zentrale Rolle spielen. In diesem Sinne gibt es am Abend die audiovisuelle Live-Performance von Kurt Laurenz Theinert und Arne Dreske im Innenhof der Domäne.
