In Search of Belonging : A Cinematic Voyage (Live AV Perf.) from Julie Meitz on Vimeo. Alla Ricerca dell'appartenenza : Un Viaggio Cinematografico Live Audio-Visual Peformance by Julie Meitz IO Project, Macchiagodena, Italy ioproject.eu A cinematic exploration about family, immigration and a sense of belonging; a voyage into Neo-Realism & Post-Realism. The performance is based on parts of a picture book called, “The Arrival” by Shaun Tan shauntan.net/books.html. It is an audio-visual intertwining of related subjects from various feature films, documentaries, image loops and music/dialogue (Italian, French and American). It also includes some photos and video of people from Macchiagodena & the Molise region. Side Notes: This is my first attempt at a live AV performance. The application I used is called Resolume Avenue 3.1.0. As I state in the opening of this video, my performance suffered by not having enough time to prepare such an ambitious idea (38 minutes perf.!) and for not knowing the application well enough. But it was indeed a learning experience and I will continue to explore AV :-)
" The question is simple but very important. I thinking about CoGe 1.0 Snow Leopard only version. What do you think about it? "

A/V live performance, AURORA Festival, Norwich, UK, 10 Nov 2007 "The piece has an unexpected sense of drama and energy, with Max Hattler’s structural, graphic forms intervening spikily in Robert Seidel’s treated video work - harmony and dissonance, form and chaos... quite the opposite of most conventional VJ sets, which often seem to function as stylish but lazy wallpaper." IDUUN @ CINESTHESY 1.0 (EXTRACT) from PIXELS Transversaux on Vimeo. " For those who don’t know ‘creative commons’ works under the belief that creative work should be open-sourced in an effort to make it easier for people to build upon the work of others and still be consistent with the rules of copyright. Here you can find some VJ clips that we are offering for free download to anyone who wants them, you may use them, share them and most importantly we are inviting you to REMIX them. We would be very interested to see what you can do with these clips and would like to build the content on this page based around the work of everyone. If you do remix any of these clips please post the link online and send an email to info@vectormeldrew.com so we can feature it on this page. " (vector meldrew)
" Of course, there will always be those who look only at technique, who ask 'how', while others of a more curious nature will ask 'why'. Personally, I have always preferred inspiration to information.
" Max Hattler is interested in the space between abstraction and figuration in the moving image, where storytelling is freed from the constraints of traditional narrative. TRIPTRAIN from supeReel on Vimeo. This is a visual example of audio/video installation TRIPTRAIN, it was on at NXNW art and music festival 2009, The Way We Are exhibition. TRIPTRAIN reflects our passion for trains and railway, industrial imagery and electronic sounds, this plays an important part in our work, in this project it is an interpretation of industrial sounds, in particular train and railway sounds. Color plays an important part as well, it changes the look and the feel or the atmosphere and the perspective of the image, the same clip is modified with color reduce and other filters to gain this effect, which completely transforms the image and when the clips are played, each one appears to be different, even though it is the same image. This installation consist of two projections, that are different in dimension and duration, played in the loop, projected to the corner, one on one wall, another on another, but colliding edges at the very peak of a corner. The second video, that is a variable speed and tempo, while the speed ant tempo of the fist video dose not change, is recorded the way that it would start later than the first one, which is played continuously, that means every time the second video is played, it starts at different frame of the first one.
