Punto y Raya Festival 2014

Now in its fifth edition, Punto y Raya has partnered with the Reykjavík Center for Visual Music to produce the biggest event devoted to abstract film and live cinema in history: the Reykjavík Visual Music - Punto y Raya Festival 2014, which will take place from January 30th to February 2nd 2014 at HARPA, the Reykjavík Concert Hall (Iceland). 

We hereby officially launch the 2013 CALLS FOR ENTRIES! We remind you that participation is free and films & live set demos are submitted online through our website. Bear in mind that the deadline is October 28th!





:: Punto y Raya SHORT FILM Call for Entries

Open to films exploring dots and lines, avoiding representation. All techniques are welcome; the soundtracks cannot feature articulated words andmaximum running time is 8 minutes.

Reykjavík Visual Music LIVE CINEMA Call for Entries 

Open to abstract LIVE CINEMA sets. The artists are invited to submit a video DEMO with a minimum running time of 7 minutes. The visuals must explore only abstract imagery, and the sound compositions cannot feature articulated words. The rider and other technical specifications must comply with the available infrastructure and layouts at theSilfurberg Room.

It is also a pleasure to announce that the PyR website  has gone RESPONSIVE, and that its new dynamic design allows easy access for visitors to the many articles in our huge database; watch and rate films online; contact authors in our various editions; comment on the activities; submit new work to the 2013 calls, easy share on social media, and much more.

We will soon post all the information regarding these four intensive days of activities at HARPA, which comprise guest screenings from Austriathe Nordic Countries and Poland; live cinema sessions featuring major figures in the field, and our first PyR Academy, a series of workshops open to students and the general audience, and coordinated by tutors from our guest countries. In one word: unmissable.
