PROJECT BRIEF:
We created a range of assets for a high profile Virgin Media event; spanning stings, idents, background loops, logo animations, VJ visuals etc. The event venue hosted a huge 16 meter screen, our main objective was to manipulate this screen into three dimensions by creating a forced perspective immersive experience.

A live and interactive audio/visual performance, which is about to evolve.
All the footages have been captured with a GoPro and mixed live with a VJing software (Modul8).
For this video clip, the editing has been made with Final Cut.
During, the live performance, some artefacts were unpredictable and "built" the aesthetic. The movements of the "human" , confronted to the machine, have deeply influenced the result.
The music was composed by Exomene (www.exomene.com) and the VJing / Video Mix was made by Dorianne Wotton (www.dorianne-wotton.com).

A quick look at the VJ setup I plan on using for the 2013 MEME festival. I am using a Quartz Composer based video clip player, controlled by Ableton Live via MIDI.
Desperation Conference 2013 "Our God is Coming" Opener from Dave Prensner on Vimeo.
The theme of the Desperation Conference 2013 was "Our God is Coming". The opener was created to illustrate people being trapped from not knowing Gods true freedom in life. As they first breakout and then discover His love, freedom and life they begin to take that love to the world.
We built a scaffolding structure and wrapped it in a semi-transparent material to project on it with some 3D mapping. The structure was lined with LED ribbon and lights were placed inside the structure to glow it. Both of these were controlled by sending video to them.

Este es otro adelanto del nuevo set de visuales que, por decirlo, de una manera, mostraré la temporada otoño invierno 2013, cuando todo el mundo vuelva del verano. No descarto introducir cosas más figurativas y menos geométrico-abstractas, pero por ahora, explorar formas y movimientos simples sin color fijo está siendo bastante interesante y me permite centrarme en lo más básico de la animación y su relación con el ritmo que genera la música electrónica.

Here's some great examples of a project I was involved with that utilizes video mapping technology, where a projected image is 'mapped' to a 3D object. We are no longer limited to projecting on standard size screens. This technology allows video to be projected on any surface, and warped to perfectly match it's dimension structure. Each segment of the video can also be independently modulated, to produce stunning light shows for DJ's, musicians, bands, and performance artists that must be scene to be believed. This show was produced by artCORE Maui, an amazing band of artist that produce mind-blowing multimedia events (www.artcoremaui.com). New Creatures- Red Bull Murals: "A Heros Journey" from New Creatures- Experience Design on Vimeo.
In 2013 Red Bull commissioned New Creatures to develop and produce a large-scale interactive experience representing the convergence of "art and sport" and featuring the pro-golfer Rickie Fowler.
The final piece featured in this video is based on mythologist Joseph Campbell's well-known "Hero's Journey" research and storyline. The concept being to draw a parallel between a psychedelic odyssey-like tale, and the mental journey a top athlete undergoes when preparing to perform at their peak level in a competition.
This experience was produced in collaboration with the amazing artist group Lumenal Code, KayneLIVE, Grant Davis VJ Culture, Adam Aleksander Presents, and many many others. This might be the weirdest place the sport of golf has ever gone. Something we are all proud of.

As a VJ, Caroline Bergmann aims for colourful and seemingly digitally animated aesthetics: She is
looking for a a powerful visual output which seems flashy but doesn‘t get too abstract,
never loosing its connection to analog visual performance. Her work is based on documentary video-
clips she collects in her every-day-life using a 7-year old Mini DV camera. In addition to that she sometimes adds live sampled video-loops: Therefore she generates the video by using objects on a moving Turntable-System, a macro USB camera and a Pure Data Patch (Software).
Her visual interpretations for TOMHARU lead to a concrete-abstract universe which goes hand in
hand with the the dreamy electronica of TOMHARU.

Hotel Vinnoise is an old hotel in downtown Cairo, years ago was shut down and sold to be renovated, for the mean time it is used as an open space for artists to show their work, the Interlab project in its second edition was showing there April 2013, this mapping event was my addition to the show, reviving the old hotel sign that was neglected for years, and adding some life to it, with a selection of wicked tracks from Scrambled eggs and Tim hecker, i made a show that was 45 minutes, for two days.

Based on Beatriz Preciado's writings about the trangressive body, Untitled Structure & Jean-Biche have collaborated in a four-days performance during Trouble Festival in Brussels, 2013.
The starting point is about documenting a show, its process, and its reaction. The performer and cameramen are placed in the same enclosure, surrounded by various TV-screens and video-projectors. Slowly, the observation becomes a performance in itself, as the multiplication of images gets intrusive and confusing. Once the performer is ready, he leaves the enclosure and cross people to join the stage and perform a song, according to the character he has created during the previous hours. Then he is given a camera to take turn filming each member of the audience, cameramen included.

Tijdens de Vrijdagavonden in augustus staat het thema binnen en buiten centraal. Van Gogh schilderde veel in de open lucht, maar ook binnen in zijn atelier. Hij voelde zich buiten door de natuur extra geïnspireerd. Maar hij maakte ook schilderijen in zijn atelier op basis van tekeningen die hij buiten had gemaakt.

All of the movement in the short excerpts are created either by the movements of my body whilst dancing or by image manipulation due to drop-outs and loose ends of the mixer. By means of repeated live sessions and continuously re-mixing the footage, I work on dissolving the media itself and the perception of reality.
Due to an extensive use of split-screen during post-production I have created a heavily psychedelic set of colours and rhythm that covers more than eight hours of ever-changing imagery.

Implementation of the "Road to Hell" shader (https://www.shadertoy.com/view/Mds3Rn) by rez (https://www.shadertoy.com/user/rez) as a video:opengl:filter component, with a few tweaks to allow the shader to be controlled by external parameters.
The parameters are MIDI mapped, with MIDI data coming from my Korg nanoKONTROL (using 5 of the sliders).
The output window is captured as an OpenGL source into XSplit Broadcaster, which is what I used to do the local recording.
Apologies that this is only 360p video - I wanted to keep the frame rate up to show the audio-reactivity clearly.

Under An Alias is the new big fairytale of nerdworking, a digital historical expression. This time our story takes place in a small German town; Weimar. The effect of a small town with the population of 65,000 people on the world concerns all of us, a city where the majority of its income is from culture. Weimar is a meeting and creation point for eminent intellectuals of our current times. This town, where Goethe wrote his masterpieces, where the music of Franz Liszt could be heard. This is where its republic of Germany was founded in 1919, whose legacy was subsequently marred by the establishment of a Nazi concentration camp in 1937. Weimar, a city that currently merges art and architecture in Bauhaus university, has many untold stories.
Although difficult, telling Weimar’s story was incredibly educational for an Istanbul based group of artists. It gave an opportunity for nerdworking illustrate a story from another perspective. Dozens of people spent long hours immersing themselves the rich cultural background, whilst taking into consideration the opinions of previous researchers. Under An Alias, created by collaboration of international artists and working completely in cyberspace, made its debut as the main act of the Genius Loci Festival.
Under An Alias was on exhibition from 10th till 12th of August on Fürstenhaus, Franz Liszt Conservatory, each night from 8PM till the early hours, several times a night. We decided that there couldn’t be anything more appropriate, than projecting the analogy onto this iconic building. The initial section is the spirit, then the muscles then the skin of this tribute to the legacy of Weimar was created. The story was based on the linear history of the city, the abstract origin slowly turned into decaying effect in the years of war. Then the exploding Bauhaus movement after the World War II is portrayed with a statement to pay homage to one of movement's greatest masters; Kandinsky. Then the story flows into the German industrial machine, healing its wounds from the diffused times with aggressive images of engineering and machinery. And finally, after all of city's turbulent history, we are waving goodbye to Weimar with its peace and order as a giant music box. We appreciate her hospitality.
Under An Alias was made by nerdworking's crew of 22 people from different disciplines architectures, new media artists, sound designers and the staff of Genius Loci Weimar. Enjoy the show, till the next fairytale.

I built this custom cardboard installation for the birthday party of two close friends of mine. From the first idea to the finished construction approximately four months passed and all in all it took me about one or two weeks in the end to make everything like I had it in my mind.
Details:
The cardboard letters and triangles were hung onto a wall of wool. I placed about 160 LEDs on the backside of the letters and hooked it up to a custom built switchboard in order to be able to light up every letter individually. In addition I also used a projector and a custom mask to only project onto the cardboard tiles.
Used software:
Illustrator: for the creation of the mask
Modul8: for the video content
Quartz Composer: which grabbed the Modul8 output, applied the mask and sent everything to the projector
