We were invited by Virada Cultural Festival 2014 to create an audiovisual proposal for the city of São Paulo in partnership with Vj Spetto and Pedro Zaz (United Vjs). We decided to pay tribute to the old downtown through the rescue of one of the most famous and influential places in the 40’s and 50’s : The Mappin Department Store. Using the video mapping technique we could recreate the facade, tell histories and play with shapes and movements to give prominence to the architectural lines of the building. 12 projectors were used making 192,000 ansilumens that covered an area of approximately 2500 m2. One of the biggest video mapping ever seen in the country so far.
Fomos chamados pela curadoria da Virada Cultural 2014 para criar uma proposta audiovisual para a cidade de São Paulo em parceria com o Vj Spetto e Pedro Zaz (United Vjs). Decidimos por homenagear o centro antigo da cidade através do resgate de um dos locais mais famosos e influentes da sociedade paulistana nos anos 40 e 50: A loja de departamentos Mappin. Através da técnica de vídeo mapping pudemos recriar a antiga fachada, contar histórias e explorar formas e movimentos que dessem destaque para as linhas arquitetônicas do edifício. Foram utilizados 12 projetores fazendo 192.000 ansilumens que cobriram uma área de aproximadamente 2500 m2. Uma das maiores projeções já vistas até então no país.
