20th February, 2005: on this day the most paradoxical and genius american writer was shot in the head by a hardcore psychedelic hippie. Yes, today 14 Years ago Hunter Thompson returned his own earth ticket with a gun, stating he needs “No More”. His whole life was no less controversial and made him a living bridge between all circles of society – from convicted felons to presidents. A founder of the later called Gonzo journalism, a style that is written without claims of objectivity, often including the reporter as a first person part of the story. One of those stories, his novel Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, has been filmed by the visionary Terry Gilliam and played by Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro. The movie is beyond greatness and lets the viewer speechless and unable to recall who does the better role incarnation. It provoked all kind of reactions and inspired generations. So what is it all about Hunter Stockton Thompson and Oscar Zeta Acosta that managed to put a shadow even on their other iconic activities? Make yourself comfortable as Hunter would – pour a fine whiskey with a filtered cigarette in the mouth and dive deep into an old school psychedelic realm!

The results of the AV Lab were presented at Sub_Sequence 2018 in collaboration with musicians, artists and technologists from Sri Lanka.
Featuring interactive audiovisual installations, musical performances and mixed-media art, Sub_Seqeunce transformed the grimy cinema halls, corridors, swimming pool and derelict rooms of the partially-abandoned Rio Cinema Colombo into a melting pot of interdisciplinary artistic collaborations waiting to be explored and experienced. Taking burly basslines and low-end frequencies as its foundational building blocks, Homing Identities is a singularly Dadaist A/V exercise in stunningly orchestrated chaos. By relying on whimsical sound permutations, the multi-platform experience takes on ever-shifting identities, overlaying melodies and patterns from dub, breakbeats, ambient and soft techno. The visual experience—all highly chromatic digital disarray—mirrors the sample-heavy and warmly textured soundscape of an anti-establishment order.
Inspired by field recordings, fairy tales and fragmented beats, Felicia Lush is the shadowy experimental moniker of producer Alicia Hush. For the past decade, the Ontario-bred, Montréal-based Hush has been churning out an array of releases, remixes and live sets steeped in minimal house and crispy funk minimalism, while running Hushlamb, the music label and collective she co-founded. Sasha Vreca (Ionsea) is a Montréal-based visual artist and filmmaker whose practice pushes the limits of media art and installation, while sharing a profound relationship with video and generative practices in production.

プリレンダ(予めレンダリングされた)映像クリップを読み込み使用するVJシステムを作ります。 TouchDesignerをプリレンダのVJシステムとして使用した際に、どんな問題が出てくるかなど実際の使用経験に基づいた話を交えながら進めていきます。TouchDesignerをVJ用途で使用してみたい方やソフトウェアの様なシステム制作に興味がある方、現在VJをしている方でTouchDesignerの使用に興味がある方を対象としています。 主に使用するオペレーターはTOPとCOMP、DATになります。
UIはReplicater COMPを使用して作成するので、今回制作したものから自身に使用しやすい様にカスタマイズしていけます。

Every year the Asinabka Festival in Ottawa, Canada, holds an outdoor screening in the winter highlighting Indigenous filmmaking from the Arctic. Films by Indigenous filmmakers from northern cultures are projected in a theatre made of snow!
The most recent edition was held over 3 evenings, from Feb. 1-3, 2019, at Lansdowne Park (Outside the Horticulture Building) in Ottawa.
For the 2019 Snow Screen, each night after the films were presented, Dj "Old man From the bush" and Vj " Sleeps with bears" worked their audio/visual magic. This is a an excerpt from their DJ / VJ set on Feb. 1.

"THE VISUAL PUSH" SSWIII Documentary by James Bishop / Media Vomit - [Instrumental Music-Montage Version]
L.A. based 3D Multimedia "Everyday" artist Switzon S. Wigfall, III aka "SSWIII" (pronounced "S-S-W-3") sits down at his desk of his home studio and creates a new cgi-art piece from scratch turning a blank canvas into abstract eye candy sci-fi like renders using Cinema 4D. Creating "Everydays" is one of his daily creative exercises to help spark ideas, projects and learn new techniques and concepts for his much bigger projects.
Exploring the limits of his imagination he found himself starting to animate these digital frames (everyday art pictures) and turns them into animation where he makes them into vj-loops or clips releasing them for free under a Creative-Commons license. Capturing the moments of his process through the lens of Photographer/Videographer James Bishop of "Media Vomit" studios we go all in with SSWIII's ideas, thoughts and creative process when creating these daily art pieces as he says he's been inspired by many 3d cgi-artists in the "everyday art era" to create his own series of "Everydays" as well. We also learn how SSWIII is slowly working on incorporating his own music (hip-hop beats) into his visual work also being inspired by his peers and generation of the LA beat scene visually and musically pushing into becoming the A/V artist he aspires to be soon.
All of his visuals/vj clips are free short, animated, abstract visuals for VJs and creative professionals released under a Creative Commons license allowing anyone to download, use, and rework his original digital files. Rimiyoho was invited to paint live at Circulo de Oro Festival party.
After the awards finished the stage was painted with colors and moving mandalas next to the Dj´s that set the place on fire.
During Rimiyoho´s performance, the screen was used as a giant canvas to paint and animate live abstract mandalas built with module repetitions using color gradients and basic forms to create more complex structures that floated in the stage.
Circulo de Oro Festival exists to represent, elevate, recognize and celebrate all the talents that work in favor of creativity in Mexico.

[ コース概要 ]
TouchDesignerは標準機能だけでも色々な表現が出来ます。しかし、全てをSOPやTOPで行おうとした場合、遠回りや無理が出てきたり、TouchDesignerだと実装が難しいからこの表現はやめとこうかな、となる場面が多々あります。また高度な表現を行う際、GLSLは避けては通れない道ですが、SOPだけで作られた３Dデータでは、GLSL Matと相性の良い変数を持たせ辛いことがあります。
本コースでは、HoudiniやSubstance DesignerといったTouchDesignerと連携しやすいアセットツールとGLSLを用いて、TouchDesignerの表現力を強化する方法をお話しします。
*HoudiniやSubstance Designerの操作に関する詳細な説明は行いません。本コースでは複数のツールやテクニックを横断的に扱うため、ワークフローやアイデアの紹介を主目的とします。

The mapping we present for Kyiv Lights Festival works with the concept of Unity, the human being is connected with nature. Man expands him self in the city, the city expands in the country. The nation is a social body characterized by the culture and the behavior of its individuals.
We want to emphasize in mapping the importance of man living in harmony with nature and the environment, so the mapping’s narrative highlights the importance of ecological and climatic issues. Graphically we work this concept with characters and symbols that mix human and nature, emphasizing the important relationship of respect and interdependence between man and his environment.
The Butterfly Effect is a visual metaphor we will use in mapping to illustrate the concept of Unity, according to this metaphor all manifestations on the planet are related, an action generates a reaction that affects other bodies and beings. "The butterfly flapping of a butterfly in Brazil can cause a hurricane in Texas."

Installazioni luminose, opere interattive e video installazioni per riscoprire con occhi nuovi angoli inediti e nascosti della città.
“BACK TO THE FUTURE”: un viaggio nel passato per modificare un futuro insoddisfacente, mettendo in pratica oggi nuove azioni che inevitabilmente determineranno nuovi futuri.
L’arte può avere questo potere?
Questa è stata la sfida di RGB Light Experience - Roma Glocal Brightness, il primo festival urbano di light art, giunto alla terza edizione dal 7 al 9 dicembre 2018, forte del successo riscosso nelle passate edizioni e le partnership con i più importanti festival della luce europei.
Il festival si è svolto a Roma nel triangolo di territorio che ha per vertici l'isola pedonale del Pigneto, l’Acquedotto Alessandrino di Parco Sangalli e piazza Malatesta, un percorso di circa quattro chilometri che si snoda lungo le vie storiche, le bellezze architettoniche e archeologiche del V Municipio.
Tre giorni, dal tramonto a notte fonda, per mostrare la città sotto una luce nuova attraverso opere inedite e site specific di light art, urban light e videomapping, proposte da artisti nazionali e internazionali, celebri ed emergenti.

Collettivo SYNC che, in via Carlo della Rocca 39, hanno proposto una mappatura audio del quartiere con "I colori sonori di Torpignattara".
Il Festival ha proposto durante i tre giorni, un programma di incontri e workshop incentrati sulle più recenti tecnologie digitali legate alla cultura della luce, con docenti ed esperti del settore, tra questi:
Gisella Gellini, Marco Frascarolo, Carlo Infante, Paola Lagonigro, Anna Maria Monteverdi, Simona Noera.
Si è svolto un laboratorio didattico per bambini presso la Scuola Pisacane di Torpignattara, dal titolo "Light painting: laboratorio di fotografia per bambini e ragazzi” a cura di Emanuela Amadio, e un progetto per ragazzi della durata di ben tre giorni a cura di Leonardo Zaccone.
Il festival è stato ideato e realizzato da Luci Ombre, società specializzata in eventi culturali, ha vinto il bando “Contemporaneamente Roma – Autunno 2018”, indetto dal Roma Capitale, con il quale è stata finanziata la sezione Urbe Light del festival che indaga il rapporto tra arte ed ambiente urbano.
Protagonista la light art, nuova corrente dell’arte urbana contemporanea legata alle arti visive e alle varie applicazioni della “luce”, grazie a cui la città diventa un museo a cielo aperto, fruibile da tutti.
Cos'è RGB18:
RGB ha vinto il bando “Contemporaneamente Roma – Autunno 2018” indetto dal Roma Capitale.
Partner e collaborazioni: il gruppo Avana S.p.a proprietaria del nuovo Centro Culturale Spazio Impero, centro di arti performative e più in generale un nuovo polo di aggregazione, cultura e socialità; Chirale S.r.l. promotrice della rete FabLab Roma, laboratori sulle discipline STEAM (Science, Technology Engineering Art and Mathematics) indirizzati a bambini; il Comitato di Quartiere Torpignattara, impegnato nella rivalutazione e valorizzazione del quartiere che ospiterà il Festival; Urban Experience associazione di promozione sociale e culturale della città con sede nel Municipio V Roma; SonoFrankie, associazione di promozione culturale; associazione culturale La Cattiva Strada - Teatro Studio Uno, associazione attiva nel mondo dello spettacolo dal vivo; il Municipio V Roma; l’Istituto Comprensivo “Simonetta Salacone” e la scuola primaria.
