Dear Mapping Festival supporter and fan,
As for all cultural events taking place in public spaces, the restrictive measures taken to prevent the spread of Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) impinge upon Mapping Festival’s 2020 edition.
It’s with great sadness that we are forced to quarantine our 16th edition. On the verge of announcing publicly our programme, the current situation pushes us to be cautious in order to protect our audience, our artists, our staff and everyone’s loved ones, and to act with responsibility and solidarity towards the Swiss population and fellow European citizens.
The festival aims to be a celebration of Audio-visual culture and deviant electronics, for a specialized audience as much as for curious people or for guests artists from all around the world. It has come clear for us that we cannot predict the state of affairs in early May. The risk of running, or not, the festival while still under the restrictions related to the pandemic is putting the core of the project in jeopardy. As such the form and future dates of the festival are on hiatus.
We are now working hard to make sure that this hiatus becomes an opportunity for us to define clearly what Mapping should become and offer in our ultra-connected world. We have a bit more time on our hands than planned, which will allow us to build the best possible edition of Mapping festival ever.
Stay home, stay safe,
Le corps sans organes du Mapping Festival.
