Excerpt from the Live Performance based on the prior Visual Music workshop by Aurora Gasull at CNP.
Under the creative guidance of visual artist and animator Aurora Gasull (Barcelona), participants learned to listen with their eyes, sensing the rhythms and melodies they created using a visual instrument built by the artist in TouchDesigner, and controlled via the KORG nanoKontrol2 interface.
Experimental animator & musician Maciek Bączyk (Wroclaw) made us conscious of the engaging and creative act of listening with our ears too, creating various types of dialogue with the childrens' imagery with his live music.
We thank DERIVATIVE for the TouchDesigner educational licences and our colleagues at PJAIT and Instituto Cervantes de Varsovia for their kind help in putting this project together during the previous workshops with deaf and hard of hearing children from the Instytut Głuchoniemych.
