VJ MIX - WAXXX

Asked to produce a DVD of m y VJ material for the regular WAXXX nights. Most have a theme (Faigrounds, Sex, Big Brother), so I will intersperse general mixes with specifically sourced and treated clips from obscure and alternative media on that theme.
In this sequence I was working to a dance track. 1. 1st segment features a slideshow of 80s band stills run very fast mixed with filtered pans of Liverpool skylines, this then segues into heavily treated film of my partner on the beach mixed over several layers, captured and and remixed on the fly. Next is a segment using some of the shots from the iconic Battleship Potemkin stairs sequence (I have cut the original up into several hundred individual shots. These images of revolutionary fervour and pain work very well on young hipsters (ha!). The piece concludes with more skyline and revolving buildings mixed with robots from 'Paprika' -Anime about dreams and identity.
