SOUTH KARORI Winter Solstice 2020 from V_Jase on Vimeo.
Here's a sample from the morning session following the party shut down by the local (but a long way from home!-) noise control enforcers.
I repositioned the projectors for a changed landscape and kept playing for the odd hanger-on and a Ruru or two. With the sound system put to bed it wasn't really the best of fun with no beats – especially, as like us – it's the beats that trigger the projected images to life.
So, all a bit dull. Then, out of the dark morning mist just like a golden glowing taco walked in DJ TACO Dave (aka) David Allen.
Fired up for a party of two and the murmurings of a Tui or two, he somehow amazingly restored the beats. Oh so quietly that gradually built through dawn till the party started it's reform and it was all clear from breaking anymore rules.
I had a hoot! TACO Dave had a hoot too, maybe more of a hoot as the mid morning sun eventually won over the projection!
TACO Dave saved the day and I am happy to say I Day VJ'd.
*So, after the event I discovered that Arena, when recording can't record the live audio, it can only do so if it is a local file part of the deck – correct eh? The track being played, is similar, but different and from a previous event of TACO Dave's. I had to post Voice Memo it and import into Arena, resync and replay to be here today with apologies for the audio quality.
