Four one second video loops running on six layers through Arkaos Grand VJ with various effects.
I’ve been thinking about cameraless animation for a while and whether some of the techniques could be approximated digitally. Each of the loops in this sketch is made from a long png – 800px x 18,000px – or 30 800px x 600px ‘frames’ which I ran through Blender to produce an short animation.
The audio is a chunk of Deepchord’s latest Resident Advisor mix which is absolutely excellent [ www.residentadvisor.net/podcast-episode.aspx?id=390 ] - it was just playing in the background, you should hear it properly.
