THANK YOU!

"The 11th edition of the Mapping Festival ends with 12,000 people in attendance
During ten days, the Swiss festival dedicated to digital creation has unveiled a wide range of events bringing together confirmed or emerging artists with a curious audience, who enjoyed a large program including installations, performances, films and club parties spread over a dozen places. The attendance remained stable, despite a slightly lower number of events than in the previous edition.
Largely noticed, the exhibition at the Common (Bâtiment d’art contemporain) featured five installations involving light, movement and sound, created respectively by Guillaume Marmin & Philippe Gordiani, Elias Crespin, Maxime Damecour, Nicolas Bernier, 1024 architecture & Jason Cook. Six workshops, hold in parallel to public events, attracted 100 participants of diverse origins (Europe, United States, Canada, Mexico, India, Taiwan, South Korea), invited to marry recent technologies and practical applications in fields ranging from dance to video game, through bikes customizing with the help of LED objects.
Novelty of this edition, the holding of audiovisual creations at the Casino Theatre, which for this occasion hosted three Swiss premieres: "Intensional Particle" by the Japanese choreographer Hiroaki Umeda, co-produced by the Mapping Festival; "Hades" from the French artist Mondkopf; and "Recession" from the 1024 architecture collective. At the Temple of Saint-Gervais were organised three captivating screenings of the movie "Stun" by Stefania Cazzato, Pascal Greco and Goodbye Ivan, including a live soundtrack performance involving the imposing temple’s organ.
While performance and projections suceeded at l’Usine’s Spoutnik theater, its neighbour the Zoo gave three distinct parties, alternating Lucy’s techno, dBridge’s seminal drum'n'bass, and Ron Morelli’s powerful house. Music was accompanied by a scenography built by the "LED Club Design" workshop attendees, and the visuals of French VJ Graphset, among others.
The 12th edition of the Mapping Festival will take place from April 28 to May 8, 2016.
