Dorianne Wotton - FONLAD Festival - Restitution of artistic residency : "Echoes" from Dorianne Wotton on Vimeo.
Here is a large report of the amazing restitution of my artistic residency as part of the FONLAD Festival. It tooks place the 29th of may 2015 at Santa Clara-a-Velha Monastery (Coimbra). I feel really lucky to have the opportunity to work in such a wonderful place !
This report is also an introduction to a new installation. Indeed, I have presented a Video Mapping creation as well as an interactive video installation , developed during this residence : "Echoes".
Two walls, two games, two atmospheres.
This project allows an active participation of all kind of audiences (men, women, children...)... and artist. Indeed, during the restitution, Maria do Mar Vieira began an improvised dance and turned the night into a magical and unforgettable experience for all.
Thank you to José Vieira, Sergio Gomes, Maria Clara Maia, Maria do Mar Vieira, and everyone who made it possible for me to take part in this wonderful experience.

About the FONLAD Festival
The Digital Art Festival FONLAD is a festival, with a focus on video art and performance, which aims the promotion and dissemination of video art (and digital arts), promoting video art shows, exhibitions, installations, residences and workshops and performances. The Festival takes place in Coimbra, every year between April and June, celebrating in 2015 10 years.
About "Echoes":
I wanted to develop an interactive video system reacting to the public wandering. The aim was to transform the viewer into an actor, who, like a magician, would wake up sleepy walls by virtually painting them with his own body ...
"Echoes" is thus a fun, interactive installation, between play and experimentation, which visual impact is both dynamic and spectacular.
This installation reacts to the presence of people in a capture area, while their movements affect the projection creating visually intriguing effects. It is another way to enjoy the space! The viewer is led to run, jump, walk to activate and create the shapes and colors of the installation. These shapes and colors echo the captations of movements, silhouettes, lights, clothes colors
By playing in the sensitive area, the viewer / actor discovers the projection of its own image and realizes that he can also change his appearance ...
This interactive installation therefore needs the participation of the visitor to become that "visual painting" ...
Both painting and projection, "Echoes" allows everyone, regardless of age, to freely play with color, to get carried away in a whirlwind of forms.
